How it all started...
In the spring of 2000, Dan and Brandon were sitting in Art class discussing the school's upcoming talent show. Brandon mentioned he played guitar, Dan mentioned he played drums, and thus, CTC began. Needing another member, Brandon and Dan approached Adam that same day and asked if he wanted to join the band. Adam agreed, and the original line-up of CTC was formed. |

The story behind the name...
On the night of a school dance, the guys decided that they would practice, go to the dance and then practice again after the dance. They practiced as planned, then prepared to go to the dance. Dan's amazingly generous mother made the guys some grilled cheese sandwiches. Neither Adam, Brandon, nor Dan were very hungry, so they left the sandwiches on the counter. They went to the dance, had some fun, and then returned to Dan's house for some more practice. Adam and Brandon were hungry and found their way to the grilled cheese sandwiches that they had neglected earlier. Adam took a bite and quipped, "This is some cold toasted cheese". The guy's eyes met as they heard Adam say "cold toasted cheese", and they realized that that was to be their name, Cold Toasted Cheese or CTC for short. Music history was changed forever.
The First Performance
Adam, Brandon, and Dan debuted as Cold Toasted Cheese at their eigth grade talent show. Armed with a two guitar, one drum-set attack, the guys performed renditions of "Mrs. Robinson" and AC/DC's
"TNT".
